Dennis was captain of the school’s 1972 undefeated football team, which was inducted into the Clifton High School Hall of Fame.Dennis was President and owner of Mikula Contracting, Inc. of Clifton, a company founded by his late father, Nick Mikula, Sr. Dennis assumed leadership of the company in the early 1980s and was the driving force behind its growth and recent success, which includes being named a “New Jersey Family Business of the Year” for 2020 by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
