LivePC Care is a misleading anti-spyware software product that acts just like a normal security tool in an attempt to trick PC users into believing that their computers are infected with malware. While simulating system scanning and infection reports, Live PC Care has the single objective of convincing the end user to purchase the application in order to remove the exaggerated infections. However, it is not recommended to purchase Live PC Care. On the contrary, once detected it is recommended to remove Live PC Care in order to prevent further loss of privacy and data.
Since Live PC Care is considered to be part of the same family of rogue security applications as Additional Guard, System Defender and Enterprise Suite it is widely known that the way in which it reaches a PC is through Trojans, fake online security scanners and browser exploits. For this reason, when deciding to remove Live PC Care it is recommended to also consider a full computer scan using a genuine antivirus product in order to make sure that no additional infections can affect the normal functionality of the operating system.
In order to manually remove Live PC Care it is recommended to first identify and end the tasks associated with this application. While using Windows Task Manager it is required to end the processes “LP339.exe” and “DBOLE.exe”. Once this is done, Live PC Care will no longer be running, however, its files will still remain on disk. In order to remove Live PC Care additional files located on disk it is required to navigate to the location “%UserProfile%\Application Data\Live PC Care”. Once at the specified disk location it is recommended to unregister the DLL files “mozcrt19.dll” and “sqlite3.dll” and remove all files found under the designated folder structure.
While the main executable files of Live PC Care have been disabled, removed and unregistered it is now recommended to delete some of the registry keys created by this false security product. On such registry key is “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run "Live PC Care"” and its removal can be accomplished while using the Windows Registry Editor.
