I was able to get this threat installed automatically on a system that was using an outdated web browser and having no Antivirus client on the test machine. It's very possible users may of been tricked into installing this virus thinking it was something else.
How Much Damage is Smart HDD Doing?
A ray of hope in all this is I have not seen this virus delete system files and there is no keylogger. Of course you may actually be infected with other viruses so you are better off playing it safe and not using the computer to log into social websites.
