Nine Ball Attack hits 40K websites

More then 40 thousand websites have been hit by a mass-compromise attack that re-directs visitors to a site that will then attempt to download trojans keyloggers to the visitors computer. At the moment no one knows exactly what kind of trojans are being downloaded because the sites track the user by IP and re-peat visits from the same IP to the webpage or domain will then re-direct to ask.com. This makes it hard for expert to evaluate reported sites and helps the scheme go on a little longer. The malicious code attempts to download several programs to the users computer in one quick swoop hoping to catch users of guard.

Many of the website that are infected got they way because the admin’s have a keylogger program installed on their computer or the server has been atacked and hacked into. As always it’s still easy to get infected online and the best way to ensure protection is to take a pro active approach and have a security client that protects against such threats. We at removevirus.org do not promote any free based clients as most have very little up front protection. However you can find links on this site still to many free clients.

We do recommend SpyHunter. This is one of the better clients out there. Update: It seems we have been unable to find this virus on the web and there for can not provide removal instructions for this. However we use PC Tools IS for security and my guess is the firewall and current Spyware doctor with antivirus will be enough to remove this threat.

If you are infected: Then please post a comment below with as much info about the name of the infections and what it is doing to your computer. As well as were you may of gotten infected. If you have screen shots of the fake virus clients or viruses then mention it in your post and we will contact you for a copy of them.
